The Role

The Associate Director, HR Projects & Planning (U.S. & R&D HR) is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex HR initiatives supporting Galderma’s U.S. business and global R&D organization. This role partners closely with U.S. and R&D HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), and cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal, Operations) to ensure disciplined execution, strong governance, and measurable business impact.

Over time, this role will build and lead a high-performing HR Project Management capability, embedding best-in-class PMO practices across the U.S. and R&D HR landscape while remaining tightly aligned with global HR priorities.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
  • Program & Project Leadership (U.S. & R&D HR)
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic HR initiatives, including:
    • Organizational design and restructuring across U.S. and R&D functions
    • Workforce planning, headcount optimization, and operating model evolution
    • Talent, capability, and leadership initiatives supporting scientific and commercial growth
    • R&D transformation initiatives, including scaling, governance, and capability build
    • M&A-related people integration and complex change programs
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business and R&D priorities.
  • Translate HR strategy into executable roadmaps with clear milestones, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Governance, Risk & Executive Reporting
  • Establish and maintain robust PMO governance frameworks across U.S. and R&D HR portfolios.
  • Own portfolio management, risk management, escalation, and prioritization processes.
  • Develop standardized methodologies, templates, and reporting.
  • Provide clear, data-driven updates to HR leadership and executive stakeholders, including progress, risks, and value realization.
  • Cross-Functional & COE Collaboration
  • Partner with U.S. and R&D HR Business Partners to assess organizational needs and prioritize initiatives.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between HRBPs and HR COEs (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, People Analytics).
  • Collaborate closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to drive clarity, alignment, and execution.
  • Organizational Change & Adoption
  • Lead and embed change management strategies across U.S. and R&D HR initiatives.
  • Ensure change impacts are assessed, communicated, and managed effectively.
  • Drive sustainable adoption of new structures, processes, and ways of working.
  • Balance speed of execution with employee experience and business continuity.
  • Continuous Improvement & PMO Evolution
  • Continuously evolve PMO practices to reflect best-in-class methodologies, tools, and delivery models.
  • Identify inefficiencies across U.S. and R&D HR operations and implement scalable solutions.
  • Leverage HR data, metrics, and employee feedback to inform prioritization and measure impact.
  • Champion a results-based management culture focused on value creation.
