Interim Payroll Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a healthcare organization based in Boston, Massachusetts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to manage payroll processes for a dynamic team across multiple jurisdictions. As a Long-term Contract position, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance during a transitional phase.

Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day payroll operations using Paylocity, ensuring seamless processing and adherence to established standards.

- Process biweekly payroll for approximately 100 hourly employees and 500 salaried staff, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

- Validate and reconcile Paylocity Time & Labor feeds, including manual adjustments such as severance, on-call pay, and other payroll components.

- Oversee high-volume workflows during critical payroll periods, ensuring precise calculations and timely delivery.

- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations across existing jurisdictions and handle setups for any new tax locations.

- Collaborate with internal backup payroll staff to facilitate training, knowledge transfer, and a smooth transition to permanent personnel.

- Support payroll integration efforts during system transitions, maintaining operational stability throughout.

- Utilize Excel trackers to monitor and reconcile payroll data efficiently.

- Provide ongoing communication and support to colleagues and teams involved in payroll processes.

- Contribute to the continued success of payroll operations during organizational transitions and system upgrades. Requirements - Extensive experience with Paylocity and full-cycle payroll management.

- Proven ability to handle multi-state payroll operations for over 500 employees.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reconciling payroll data.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex workflows under tight deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams.

- Knowledge of payroll compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within the healthcare industry.

- Ability to adapt to organizational changes and support transitional processes effectively.
