Deputy Director Of Human Resources
This strategic, innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual will be primarily responsible for supporting the Director in all aspects of the department's human resources, including staff recruitment, retention, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and payroll. The Deputy Director of Human Resources will also support and lead other HR strategies and operations within Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF).
Responsibilities- At least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, paid professional experience in human resources management, business or public administration, or related work, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
- A bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or public administration, or a related field is strongly preferred and may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. Supervisory experience may not be substituted.
- Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures such as ADA, FMLA, worker's compensation, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with individuals and small groups in front of large audiences at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently under deadlines and with sensitivity to confidential matters.
- Ability to apply laws, rules, regulations, specifications, and standards in compliance with documented policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the People Soft HRMS or similar Human Resource Management Systems.
- Knowledge of the City's personnel practices and procedures is strongly preferred.
- Position requires a high level of accountability and an ability to make critical decisions and work to ensure the success of those decisions.
- Strong project management skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the position.
