OverviewReporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the HR Manager oversees all aspects of human resources practices and processes to ensure a productive and compliant workplace that aligns with the organization's goals. The HR Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function. This role leads the HR department, implements HR strategies, and ensures the organization attracts, retains, and develops top talent while complying with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
This role serves as a crucial link between management and employees.
- Administer and continuously improve compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
- Conduct market research, salary surveys, and compensation benchmarking to ensure competitive pay structures
- Manage benefits enrollment, vendor relationships, and employee communications regarding total rewards
- Coordinate with finance for timely and accurate payroll processing
- Act as a liaison between management and employees, addressing demands, grievances, and other issues to foster a positive and productive work environment
- Mediate disputes and direct disciplinary procedures when necessary
- Oversee the performance appraisal system and develop performance improvement plans
- Provide guidance to managers on effective performance feedback and coaching
- Assess training needs and design employee development programs to enhance skill sets and career growth
- Develop, implement, and revise HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment-related laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and reports
- Consult with senior executives on strategic planning and use HR metrics to inform decision‑making
- Coordinate and enforce health and safety programs, including managing workers' compensation claims
- Support talent acquisition efforts by assisting with job description development and compensation benchmarking
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR Information Systems (HRIS)
- Experience with payroll systems and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR
- ADP experience (HRIS and payroll)
- Ashby experience (ATS)
