Payroll Associate

Position: Payroll Associate

Pay: $70,000 - $77,500

Location: Boston, MA (Boston based organization)

  • Office Requirements:
    You’ll start by working on-site 4 days a week for the first few months to get fully up to speed. After that, the client is happy to provide more flexibility as you settle into the role.
Responsibilities
  • Process accurate weekly payroll for up to 250 employees across multiple employment types.
  • Ensure compliance with union agreements and handle union billing and reporting requirements.
  • Interpret and apply employee contracts to payroll calculations.
  • Maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to ensure timely and accurate employee data updates.
  • Assist with onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and system setup.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits in a professional manner.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations, labor laws, and union requirements.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, union contracts, and labor compliance.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Education:

    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred.
