About The Lenox

Since 1900,
The Lenox has been a beloved Back Bay landmark—an independent hotel known for its character, creativity, and genuine hospitality. We empower our team to surprise and delight guests in thoughtful, memorable ways. For many travelers, The Lenox becomes their home in Boston, and our team is at the heart of that experience.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a part‑time Host who brings energy, curiosity, and a love of great food, drink, and conversation. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life, and believe hospitality is both an art and a team sport, we’d love to meet you.

Our Hosts do far more than greet and seat—they set the tone for the entire dining experience. You’ll create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, manage the flow of service, and support the team in delivering exceptional hospitality across our three distinct outlets:

  • Sweeney’s on Boylston – A lively neighborhood favorite serving authentic Irish classics and Lenox staples.
  • The Irving at The Lenox – An intimate lobby cocktail bar with turn‑of‑the‑century charm, known for beautifully crafted cocktails and a sense of intrigue.
  • Willow & Ivy – Led by Executive Chef Daniel Kenney, Willow & Ivy offers a fresh, refined take on New England‑inspired American cuisine in a reimagined, inviting space.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create a warm, memorable first impression for every guest.
  • Manage reservations and guest flow to ensure timely, seamless service.
  • Answer phone inquiries and reservations.
  • Maintain exceptional service standards and a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Assist the service team by clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Keep host stations and equipment clean, organized, and guest‑ready.
  • Anticipate and exceed guest expectations with confidence and care.
Qualifications
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English; multilingual candidates are a plus.
  • At least one year of experience in hospitality, preferably in a food & beverage department.
  • Familiarity with Toast or similar POS systems is helpful.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Friday and Saturday availability is required.
Benefits
  • Salary range of $20 to $22 per hour, based on experience.
  • Affordable medical, dental for full‑timers.
  • 401(k) with generous employer match.
  • Vacation, holiday, and paid sick time.
  • Complimentary meals during shifts.
  • Discounted parking available.
