Overview
The Bartender position in Tamo mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar guests and Restaurant, Lounge and Terrace Servers. This position sells and services food to our guests according to the company standards while adhering to our team service goals. This position is highly interactive with our guests. Performance in providing food and beverage to patrons of the lobby bar and lounge largely contributes to the overall perception of hotel quality and attention to detail.
Maintaining a relaxed casual and attentive atmosphere will enhance the bartender’s ability to exceed guests’ expectations. This position reports directly to the Food and Beverage Management Team.
The position includes morning and afternoon/evening shifts with regular weekend attendance. Holidays are scheduled as business requires.
Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, flexibility is required to meet business needs. Participation in all hands events may be necessary.
The hotel operates 24/7, including holidays. The company strives to support work-life balance.
Essential Functions- Greet all guests upon arrival in a warm and friendly manner.
- Organize bar to provide beverage service to both patrons and staff.
- Ensure proper set-up and closing of the bar following the opening and closing side-work procedures as specified by management.
- Maintain standards of service and costs of product as directed.
- Provide table service for food and beverage in lounge and bar.
- Rotate product and inventory to ensure freshness.
- Coordinate food orders with kitchen.
- Using proper cash handling
- Arrange glasses and bottles to make an attractive display.
- Demonstrate drink recipe knowledge
- Accuracy in ringing procedures
- Proficient in drink preparation (speed)
- Daily bar inventories will correspond with bar and cash register totals.
- Maintain proper safety and sanitation procedures.
- Helping other outlets within the department as needed.
- Represent the hotel with a positive attitude and professional attire
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Seaport’s sustainability programs
- Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.
- Responsible for practicing, managing and promoting our Mission and Values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.
Required Job Knowledge and Skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50-pounds
- Ability to be mobile on feet for entire shift.
- iPod Touches and/or radios are used throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as pulling, pushing, and bending for extended periods of time. Examples:
Moving full laundry buggies, bending to clean baseboards - Ability to work as part of a team and in a group setting

- In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Executive Housekeeper based upon the requirements of the hotel.

Experience:
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma, general education degree or international equivalent preferred.
Language Skills:
- Fluency of the English language is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand and compose instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
