Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) invites applications for a Medical Director, CBAT at Franciscan Children’s, a full-time position dedicated to providing leadership for the Franciscan CBAT program. Reporting to the Associate Chief of the Intensive Psychiatry Service of Franciscan Children’s and the Chief of Clinical Enterprise of BCH—Chief Behavioral Health Officer of Franciscan Children’s, and working collaboratively with the CBAT Program Director, nursing leadership, and social work, this position will optimize CBAT clinical operations, and collaborate effectively across the BCH/FC continuum of care ensuring the delivery of equitable, effective, and evidence-based patient-centered care.

This position will, in part, facilitate improvements in CBAT operations with a focus on treating complex patients appropriate for this care level. As part of their academic appointment the position will also have clinical and/or research responsibilities king closely with clinical leaders of psychiatric services across the BCH and FCH care continuum this position will assist children and families to access the right level of care at the right time.

The position will be expected to intentionally and transparently advance health equity and support the development and retention of a diverse workforce. This position will be a combination of administrative leadership and clinical psychiatric care with the potential for a research component consistent with the interests and academic goals of the applicant and their alignment with the strategic vision of the Department of Psychiatry.

Part-time appointment at Harvard Medical School is expected at the Assistant or Associate Professor level commensurate with experience and requires ongoing teaching and scholarship.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an MD, DO, or MD/PhD and have specific experience working in intensive behavioral health. Applicants must also be board certified in child/adolescent psychiatry. The successful candidate will have previous experience developing innovative systems of care and supporting training and education programs and a strong commitment to health equity and anti-racist practices.
