Role Summary
Senior Medical Science Liaison – Solid Tumor Oncology, based in the Northeast territory (New York, NY and Boston, MA). Responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective scientific information and education to healthcare professionals and internal partners, staying current with scientific trends, and supporting company and investigator-initiated studies.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a strategic and comprehensive territory plan and build relationships with community and academic opinion leaders / KOLs in the territory.
- Engage in high-level scientific and research discussions with KOLs and OLs to understand perspectives on the current treatment landscape.
- Identify provider educational needs and address those with tailored responses.
- Deliver relevant scientific data tailored to HCP needs through clear and effective dialog/presentation.
- Consistently execute the current Medical Affairs strategy and MSL priorities.
- Respond to unsolicited research/clinical inquiries from external stakeholders promptly.
- Collect and submit high-quality actionable insights aligned with current organizational priorities.
- Utilize insights and MSL tools to develop a strategic approach for customer engagements within the territory.
- Provide research support for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including MSL field partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, sales, and marketing teams.
- Demonstrate strong scientific acumen through self-reading, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and scientific discussion with peers.
- Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, increasing engagement, productivity, and innovation.
- Develop understanding of regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines, corporate policies on ethical conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs/guidelines.
- With direct manager, develop and implement a performance and development plan and conduct leadership projects.
- Perform administrative requirements timely and accurately (e.g., expense reports, activity documentation).
- Required:
Doctorate level degree or equivalent (Pharm
D, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Provider). - Required:
Post-graduate experience for doctoral candidates, with preference for clinical experience. - Required:
2+ years of MSL experience and/or 2+ years relevant work experience (clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical). - Required:
In-depth scientific/therapeutic knowledge; research and/or healthcare system knowledge. - Required:
Ability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel; valid US driver's license. - Preferred:
Residency/fellowship; board certification for clinical degrees; experience in the Solid Tumor/Oncology area.
