Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualized and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Job Title: Clinical Director - Mirasol Center for Healing

Location: Boston, MA, USA

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of culturally competent, evidence-based services rooted in harm reduction and a trauma-responsive approach, for a large 24-hour treatment program.
  • Contribute to Bay Cove’s mission by ensuring services challenge stigma, promote long-term wellness, and honor the dignity and autonomy of each individual as they pursue their goals.
  • Administrative and clinical supervision of clinical team members, and clinical interns.
  • Clinical oversight of all program employees.
  • Lead and continually develop the clinical direction of substance use treatment services.
  • Promote and model a person-centered, harm reduction approach to care.
  • Guide the design and implementation of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Supervise a large clinical team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Facilitate regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support staff wellness and retention through reflective supervision and inclusive leadership.
  • Ensure programs meet all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part
    2), and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee clinical documentation, audits, and internal review processes.
  • Implement outcome-based quality improvement plans and monitor program efficacy.
  • Collaborate with medical, psychiatric, case management, and peer support teams.
  • Serve as a liaison to external partners, funders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide on-call clinical support and guidance during off-hours on a rotating basis.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, mental health, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, or social work.
  • Independent clinical licensure in Massachusetts (e.g., LADC I, LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT).
  • At least two (2) years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience.
  • At least one year of full-time equivalent clinical supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to harm reduction, social justice, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, affirming practices, and community-based treatment models.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data-informed management (preferred).
  • Bilingual/bicultural strongly preferred.
  • Flexible and responsible work style to meet evolving needs of the agency.
  • Commitment to integrity, dignity, and advocacy; support for diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to enter and navigate various physical environments, including multi-story buildings; capable of data entry and written communication via computer, tablet, and mobile phone.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while completing documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Frequent, clear communication with individuals, colleagues, and partners (in person, by phone, and in writing).
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of program materials, supplies, or small equipment (up to 20 pounds).
  • Ability to provide CPR and overdose rescue (naloxone administration) if needed.
