Overview
Position: Patient Access Coordinator
Department: Rehab Therapies - South Bay, Boston, MA
Schedule: Full Time, 40 Hours, Rotating Day/Evening
The primary purpose of the job is to serve as a liaison for patients in all communications regarding care rendered in the Boston Medical Center South Bay location. Provides comprehensive handling of the patient’s administrative experience, facilitating access and proper insurance management during their visit. Tasks include gathering information for pre-admission, and full registration. Obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers, and authorization extensions.
Responsible for referral management, scheduling appointments, verifying demographic and financial information, and collection of co-payment. Contributes to the daily success of patient flow.
- HS/GED plus 5+ years’ medical office experience and/or referral authorization experience OR
- Associates plus 2-3 years’ medical office experience and/or referral authorization experience OR
- Bachelor’s plus 1-2 years medical office experience and/or referral authorization experience
- Requires strong computer skills and knowledge of PC applications. Windows environment and Microsoft Office products preferred. Knowledge of the Eclipsys SDK system or other comparable registration systems a plus. Other systems utilized are EWS, EPIC, E-REFERRAL portal.
- Requires the ability to multitask and manage complex processes.
- Requires ability to make independent decisions under pressure.

Compensation Range: $17.07 - $23.80
