Job Summary- Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, researches, develops, and applies statistical models for analysis, inference, and prediction from multiple large datasets.
- Collaborates with genetics laboratory and bioinformatics staff on data cleaning and quality control of genomic datasets.
- Provides regular reports of data analysis to investigator and collaborators.
- Adheres to rigorous principles of reproducible research and data documentation.
- In collaboration with investigators and trainees, contributes to scientific literature, reports, journal publications and presentations.
- Assists in orientation and training of post-doctoral fellows and other personnel as needed.
The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston is looking for a Biostatistical Analyst. The Biostatistical Analyst will design and perform statistical analyses of large datasets from multiple studies of chronic lung disease. Working independently, under the direction of the Principal Investigator, s/he will design and perform statistical analyses of clinical and genomic datasets, including data cleaning and implementation of complex statistical models.

Qualifications
Masters degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology. MPH with concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics is acceptable with appropriate post-graduate experience. 1+ years of post-graduate research experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong academic credentials and appropriate graduate school research experience.
Skills / Abilities / Competencies- Strong statistical background and data analysis skills.
- Substantial experience applying sophisticated statistical methods to analyze large datasets.
- Prior experience working with RNA-sequencing, proteomics, or other similar ‘omics data.
- Experience in programming with R, Python, and/or MATLAB.
- Experience with computational biology applications and databases.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- High degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to seek and accept guidance from senior personnel, as needed.
