Compensation
  • Sign‑on bonus: $20,000
  • Starting/new grad pay: $48/hr
  • Hourly pay range: $31.35 – $46.91

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using a magnetic resonance imaging system. The scope includes preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring images, performing computer processing, and displaying images. The MRI technologist selects appropriate imaging protocols, performs quality assurance scans, and collaborates with the MRI Department team and content experts (e.g., radiologist, nurse, child life specialist).

Staff must rotate to MRI scanners across the assigned department as needed and be available to work occasional overnight shifts and holidays, except for per-diem technologists.

Responsibilities
  • Confirm patient identity and exam details in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Prepare and position patients for exam, set imaging parameters per protocol, and acquire images in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Insert IV catheters and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, monitor for adverse reactions, and record all information in the electronic medical record.
  • Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures and enforce safety policies.
  • Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment, record QA results, and report equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist Practice Assistant and other department staff with scheduling, transporting patients, inventory, filing, and other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Certificate/Diploma in Medical Imaging required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • MRI Registered Technologist with ARRT or ARMRIT within one year.
  • CPR certification within 90 days.
