Schedule: 36 Hours Days (Every Other Weekend / 7 AM – 7 PM)
About the departmentMaternal Child Health / Mother Baby Department:
Patient Care Technician for the Post-Partum Unit and Newborn Nursery provides couplet care to patients who have recently delivered in our Labor & Delivery unit. As a Magnet recognized organization, these nurses provide care to the whole family, ensuring the first few days of care set the family up for success.
As a Patient Care Technician in the Maternal Child Health / Mother Baby Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model, you will be supported by a nursing organization and able to deliver the excellent care your patients deserve.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the ED and their families.
- Clinical services may include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and providing emotional support.
- Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the ED.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the ED, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
Job requirements
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification (must be current or obtained within 30 days of employment)
- Ability to pass clinical competency testing
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic math and computer proficiency
- One of the following:
- One year of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute hospital setting
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation
- Completed an approved patient care technician program
- Completed an approved patient care technician training
- One year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only)
- Fluency in another language is a plus
- Previous medical/surgical experience preferred

CompensationCompensation Range: $23.19 - $27.17 per hour
This range offers an estimate based on minimum job qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer, including education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
