Registered Nurse - Medical - Surgical Telemetry; Float

Overview

Registered Nurse - Medical - Surgical Telemetry (Float) position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (31020). 15-week float pool across 15 medical-surgical units in a 600-bed facility with rotating day/evening/night shifts. Holiday coverage required. No call is required.

• Provide nursing care on medical-surgical telemetry units and participate in unit-specific procedures as assigned (12-lead EKGs, Lasix gtt, blood transfusions, telemetry monitoring).
• Support ventilator-related care is managed by RT; RN responsible for administering nebulizers as applicable.
• Utilize Epic and other web-based applications with basic computer navigation.
• Contribute to a team caring for patients with specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine and surgery, gynecology, GU, hips and joints, oncology, transplant liver/kidneys and vascular.
• Maintain patient ratios ranging from ~4:1 days to ~6:1 nights; travel RNs are assigned to units on a 2–3 week basis with potential last-minute assignments and limited schedule guarantees.

• License:
  Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 3+ years related work experience; prior travel experience preferred.
• Credentials: CPR-AHA, ACLS-AHA; basic computer literacy;
  Epic experience required.
• Specialty requirements:
  Level I trauma experience; teaching hospital experience and unit-specific expertise preferred.
• Other:
  No local travelers accepted (within 50 miles of facility); RTO requests must be presented at time of submission; IV therapy capabilities; ability to interview at offered dates/times.

• Shifts:
  
  12-hour rotating shifts; 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM; 36 hours per week; 15 weeks total with holiday coverage
• Schedule notes:
  Every 4-week period includes one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts; occasional intra-week rotation may occur, with a few days between rotations.
• Compensation:
  Base pay range $17.00/hr - $19.50/hr.
• Other:
  Parking may cost up to $43/day; public transportation available; no local travel candidates.
• Orientation:
  Weekly (every Monday, barring holidays); offer may include IVs with restrictions.
