Overview
Harvard University – Harvard Medical School (HMS) offers a dynamic, data-driven research environment in the Department of Health Care Policy (HCP). The RA will assist with coordinated research related to applied microeconomics focusing on health care, innovation, and Medicare policy, under the direction of Professor Leila Agha. Project topics may include studying physician quality market demand and how prescription drug coverage restrictions affect patient utilization and health outcomes.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the daily operations of research related to health care policy under supervision.
- Assist with literature reviews, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and research management in collaboration with faculty mentors and the research team.
- Support project activities related to applied microeconomics, health care, and Medicare policy.
- One or more years of related research experience or relevant coursework.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, and/or STATA.
- Background in statistical programming (competency in STATA and R or SAS) and a basic understanding of econometrics or statistics are encouraged.
- BA or BS, preferably in a field related to the research study, with coursework in a social science field (economics, statistics, or sociology with a quantitative focus).
- Demonstrated interest or experience in health care research.
- Proficiency with common software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Independent judgement, patience, and excellent communication skills; ability to respond efficiently to varied tasks.
- Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to work with a team; calm and cooperative attitude during busy periods.
- Term:
One-year term from date of hire, with potential extension contingent on performance and funding. - Standard Hours/
Schedule:
35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm. - Visa Sponsorship:
