- This unit prefers at least one year of inpatient acute care experience
- This unit prefers a clinical license/certification
The Opportunity:
Patient Care Assistant – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
111 pre and post op bays. Perform 180 procedures a day
This unit prefers inpatient, acute care, critical care work experience
This unit requires you to be licensed or certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT or other critical care training
Schedule- 40-hour | Day and Night shift
- (5) 8-hour shifts OR (4) 12-hour shifts & (1) 8-hour shift
- 7a - 7p, 7a-3p and 7p-7a, 11p-7a
- Require one weekend shift per month - a Saturday or Sunday
$750.00 Sign on Bonus available
Job SummaryWorking under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions- Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
- Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
- Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
- Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
- Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
- Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.

: BLS Certification - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (Massachusetts) - Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services preferred Nursing Assistant (LNA - Massachusetts) - Massachusetts Board of Nursing preferred

Experience working in patient care/elder care 1-2 years preferred
- Knowledge,
Skills And Abilities
:
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong patient/customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
