Be part of the BMC Brighton team dedicated to advancing diagnostic excellence and improving patient outcomes. As a member of the Labor and Delivery surgical team, the surgical technician provides patient care during surgical procedures by providing an aseptic and safe environment. Duties include prepping and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments and providing assistance to surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and other staff during surgery.

Uses technical and aseptic techniques to ensure methodology is in compliance with established sterile standards and procedures

REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program).
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Surgical Technician certification required or Surg Tech experience prior to 2013 as dictated by MA law
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 1-year Surgical Tech experience in a hospital setting required
KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with surgeons and other employees.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of the Surgical Technician role including case preparation, set‑up, aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies, and room turnover.
Compensation Range:

$32.12- $47.72

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
