This role focuses on using various imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. It involves performing diagnostic radiology duties such as evaluating physical conditions, operating medical imaging equipment, and ensuring quality patient care under close supervision.
Job OverviewPerform radiologic procedures on assigned patients according to department policies, procedures, and objectives. Operate safely and accurately, meeting American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging standards, and support radiologists and physicians in making radiological diagnoses. Work cooperatively across departments to deliver quality health care.
Job DescriptionMinimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
- Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).
- Radiologic Technologist state license or license‑eligible status.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- X‑Ray experience.
- Radiologic Technologist experience.
- Perform radiologic procedures on patients as assigned according to policy and radiological standards.
- Verify patient identity and procedure to be performed.
- Provide clear and accurate instructions to patients.
- Apply correct imaging protocol, steps, procedures, and scanner parameters for each patient.
- Ensure safety of patients and staff when using equipment.
- Participate in ongoing education and training.
- Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required.
- Communicate with other staff/departments to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain and request stock supplies as necessary.
- Keep all work areas clean and functional according to DPH and Joint Commission standards.
- Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting 30‑35 lbs.
- Manual dexterity with fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment.
- Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, read monitors, documents, and detect audible equipment alarms.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
- Knowledge of radiologic equipment, examinations, and procedures.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
- Ability to organize and set priorities.
