Job SummaryManages the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients which includes providing nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population.
Essential Functions- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on assessment of nutritional needs, physician orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary healthcare plans, and quality standards.
- Document all nutrition-related information including assessment, therapy recommendations, care plan, follow‑up data, changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other pertinent information.
- Provide counseling, education, and develop resources for patients and families on prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support are provided; review menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Nutrition required
- Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] preferred
- Heartsaver CPR AED Certification [CPR] preferred
- Registered Dietitian [RD] preferred
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist [RDN] preferred
- Completed Internship
- Good communication skills
- Ability to evaluate and problem‑solve effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to guide, teach, and motivate patients of all age groups
