Seeking a Medical Assistant for the busy OB/GYN/Specialties Department. Medical Assistants are important members of the clinical care team, working in close partnership with clinical staff. They manage efficient patient flow and assist clinical staff as needed.
DescriptionMedical Assistants are responsible for department‑specific tasks in accordance with training. They prepare the patient and environment for visits and/or procedures, maintain non‑pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, and provide patient care responsibilities dealing with the physical and emotional aspects of department‑specific patient age groups. Medical Assistants are supervised by licensed nursing personnel and strive for excellence in practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Vital signs.
- Pulse oximetry.
- Use of O₂ equipment.
- Obtaining EKGs.
- Laboratory studies such as glucometer, urine dip‑stick urinalysis, and others as requested.
- Cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization.
- Follows procedure for operation of autoclave and properly documents each load.
- HS Diploma/GED and a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.
- New Grad Medical Assistants welcomed.
- One year of Medical Assisting experience preferred.
- One year of Customer Service experience.
- Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
$21.95 to $31.95 per hour based on experience.
