Job Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Clinical Operations, the Manager of Clinical Training will oversee, strategize, measure impact, and maintain scalable learning solutions that support teams across Clinical Services. The role drives the development of complex training programs and materials, establishes competency tracking processes, and aligns training initiatives with departmental and regulatory requirements.

Key Functions / Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of clinical trainers and coordinators to achieve departmental learning and development initiatives.
  • Manage the Clinical Services training program, including new‑hire orientation, ongoing learning, standardization of training materials, and cross‑departmental collaboration to enhance job performance.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional internal stakeholders (customer service, marketing, product, finance, care management, utilization management, pharmacy, behavioral health) to ensure operational requirements support Clinical Services objectives.
  • Strategy with department leadership to develop training plans.
  • Lead projects that align learning and development solutions for various functional areas and strategic initiatives.
  • Use ADDIE or SAM models to design curricula and define program life‑cycle with sustainability in mind.
  • Prioritize program roadmaps to manage multiple programs concurrently.
  • Advise clinical leaders and subject‑matter experts on objectives, measures of success, content, audience, length, and delivery vehicles.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on standardization of company‑wide orientation materials.
  • Execute development, implementation, and revisions of Clinical Service training and education initiatives.
  • Analyze training program feedback to modify training to meet individual and departmental needs.
  • Engage stakeholders, evaluate business problems, and conduct needs‑analysis to identify training opportunities.
  • Create mechanisms for systematically measuring impact and continuously improving training programs to maximize effectiveness and translate results into ROI.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Exercised
  • Directly or indirectly oversees management of up to 15 clinical and non‑clinical staff.
Supervision Received
  • Indirect supervision is received weekly.
Qualifications Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a health‑plan setting.
Education Preferred
  • Master’s degree in related field (e.g., Adult Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design).
Experience Required
  • 5+ years of experience in a learning and development environment.
  • 2+ years of prior management/supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years of related managed health or insurance operations experience.
Experience Preferred / Desirable
  • 10+ years of experience in a learning and development environment.
  • 10+ years of related managed healthcare clinical program experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in leader development programming.
  • Active and unrestricted RN or SW license.
Certification or Conditions of Employment
  • Pre‑employment background check.
