20 hours/week. Flex shifts 6:30am-11:30pm and 2:30pm-7:30pm. Weekday, every other weekend, with rotating holidays.

Job Description:

Position Summary

The Healthcare Diet Aide is responsible for effectively communicating with patients, staff, and guests of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timeliness of patient meal trays and floor stock. Major responsibilities include assembling meal trays, delivering meal carts to patient units, aiding in the meal set-up at bedside, discarding soiled trays, taking inventory and stocking food items as needed, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities also include dishware sanitation, maintaining a clean work area, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager. This is a part-time position (20 hours) with some weekend and holiday shifts based on department needs.

Principal Duties And Essential Functions

  • Participates in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assists in food prep, assembles patient meal trays, stocks refrigerators and supplies, and prepares desserts.
  • Delivers patient trays courteously and promptly, assisting with tray setup as needed.
  • Collects and cleans soiled trays, maintains sanitation in dish areas.
  • Participates in dietary training sessions.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Works as part of a team to ensure timely service.
  • Maintains a clean work environment throughout the shift.
  • Completes HACCP logs as required.

Required Qualifications:

High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred.

0-1 Years Experience Required.

All staff must be vaccinated against influenza per hospital policy.
