Position: MRI Technician - Travel PRN Opportunity

Job Description

This position is in support of the Johns Hopkins research team. This is a worldwide rapid deployment team that will support Johns Hopkins research efforts on behalf of the US Department of State. The MRI Technician will be available to deploy worldwide within 72 hours of notification. The MRI technician will observe the MRI scan at a designated MRI facility, provide the protocol for the MRI scan via USB stick to an in-country MRI technician (when permission is not granted to use the machine at the site), and observe that the scan is being completed according to the protocol.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel with team internationally within 72 hours of notification.
  • Conduct MRI in accordance with protocol.
  • Observe local MRI technician perform procedure.
  • Download images, safeguard, and deliver to client.
  • Maintain all supplies and equipment during travel.
  • Submit travel vouchers within 5 days of return.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
  • Undertake additional duties as required (non-exhaustive list).
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Graduated from an accredited MRI technician program or holds a certificate program.
  • Certificate from the American Registry of Radiological Technicians.
  • Ability to successfully perform Basic Life Support interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required Work Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience using General Electric, Philips Healthcare, Siemens, Toshiba, and Canon MRI devices (requires knowledge of all systems).
  • Experience with MRI with contrast.
  • Experience operating in a remote setting preferred.
Qualifications
  • Experience placing PIVs preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
Requirements
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card required.
  • Must be able to travel internationally within 72 hours of notification.
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.
Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary; a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits will be provided. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation:
Minimum $60 per hour, maximum $65 per hour.
