Certified Pharmacy Technician II - Per Diem, Inpatient

Every‑other weekend, rotating.
As a BMC Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will prepare and distribute medications, operate and monitor pharmacy automated technology systems, maintain inventory, perform daily quality assurance audits, provide customer service, and maintain pharmacy records. You will also assist in training staff under the supervision and guidance of the Pharmacy Managers and Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, helping further BMC’s mission of providing exceptional care for all.
Job Responsibilities- Preparing product for use, including packaging, repacking, compounding, bar‑coding, or other manipulation.
- Performing medication preparation in accordance with law, regulation, accreditation standards, and hospital policy or procedure, including participating in a double‑check system for all preparation.
- Assisting with inventory control (receiving, stocking, replenishment) and ensuring product is stored in compliance with laws, regulations, and hospital policy.
- Communicating with pharmacists and/or pharmacy technician supervisor about malfunctioning equipment and unsafe working conditions.
- Providing the highest level of customer service, such as answering the telephone and greeting customers and guests in person.
- Attending and participating in hospital and other management training and development workshops.
- Maintaining national technician certification through PTCB or exCPT.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the MA Board of Pharmacy by hire date (Pharmacy Interns are not required to hold CPhT certification).
- National certification from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT).
- 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience. Pharmacy students who have completed 2 years of education in an approved college/school of pharmacy are eligible for pharmacy internship and may be waived for the required experience.
- Prior experience with sterile (IV) compounding is preferred.

$27.32 – $36.77 per hour. This range reflects the minimum job qualifications; total compensation may include additional benefits and factors such as education, experience, and licensure.
