Physician Assistant Trauma and Acute Care Surgery

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team at our Level 1 Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital. Work with complex patient populations in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Provide patient care for trauma and surgical emergencies, including admissions, consults, perioperative care, procedures, and discharges
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons, residents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform history taking, physical exams, order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging, formulate diagnoses and treatment plans
• Assist in surgery or invasive procedures; participate in rounding; provide patient and family counseling
• Participate in teaching, quality improvement, and academic initiatives

• Full-time with rotating weekend schedule
• No night shifts, no holidays, and no on-call responsibilities
• Work with a team of 8 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

• Bachelor's degree; graduate of ARC-PA accredited PA program
• National certification (PANCE) eligible and Massachusetts licensure eligible; license and initial NCCPA certification required on hire
• Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and DEA registration if applicable

• Prior experience in a similar clinical setting preferred

• Self-directed, professional, and able to exercise independent clinical judgment
• Excellent English communication skills
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Experience caring for diverse populations
