The Child Life Specialist provides comprehensive, purposeful, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive, family‑centered care. This care is focused on meeting the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and families.
Schedule:
32 hours per week; 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Flexibility to work occasional Wednesdays and weekends is strongly preferred.
Pay range: $24.17 to $32.87 per hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
Responsibilities- Performs an individualized assessment to collect comprehensive and accurate data necessary to assess development, temperament, coping style, medical plan, cultural preferences and practices, and available social supports in order to develop an individualized development plan.
- Plans and implements an individualized treatment plan that identifies goals and evidence‑based treatment intervention strategies.
- Participates in interdisciplinary patient care planning.
- Utilizes the EMR to document relevant patient and family information.
- Plans, implements, or assists with camps, workshops, and special events.

Required- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
- Certified Child Life Specialist required within 6 months of employment.
- Master’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
- One year’s experience in a hospital child life program.
