Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 base salary + 15–30% bonus

A well-established global investment management firm is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its Boston-based finance and fund operations team. This individual will support tax compliance, investor reporting, and regulatory oversight for a diverse portfolio of investment vehicles across multiple asset classes.

The role offers strong exposure to complex fund structures and provides the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers. The team is open to candidates with experience in public accounting or professionals transitioning from Big 4 tax practices into the investment management industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing tax compliance and regulatory reporting across a broad portfolio of pooled investment vehicles.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and administrators to ensure the timely preparation and filing of required tax documentation.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of investor tax reporting, while assisting with inquiries related to tax filings and audit requests.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements including FATCA, CRS, withholding obligations, effectively connected income (ECI), and estimated tax payments.
  • Maintain strong operational controls by tracking deadlines, managing supporting documentation, and resolving issues with internal teams and external providers.
  • Partner with teams across operations, client service, and research to analyze tax-related questions and support evolving investor needs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational initiatives, particularly around reporting automation and data management.
  • Assist with managing relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring quality service and adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and help support the continued development and growth of the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred (or progress toward certification).
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting, fund tax, fund accounting, or financial services.
  • Exposure to investment funds, alternative assets, or complex partnership structures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FATCA, CRS, ECI regulations, and general tax reporting considerations for investment vehicles.
  • Understanding of tax filings across multiple entity types, including partnerships and corporate structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data tools such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
