Interim Controller; Management

Pay Rate: $100-$125/hr (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Controller position with a Boston-based investment firm. The Interim Management Company Controller will support the finance team during a transition period. This individual will oversee the corporate accounting and financial operations of the management company while providing reporting and budgeting support to senior leadership.
This is NOT a fund accounting role.

• Manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the management company
• Ensure accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process
• Monitor cash flow and treasury activities
• Supervise payroll, benefits, and accounts payable processes
• Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance efforts
• Provide financial updates and analysis to senior leadership

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 10+ years of relevant management company accounting experience
• Relevant experience working for an asset management firm
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, and budgeting processes
• Strong systems skills
• Ability to operate in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment
