Job Description General Accountant 4-month contract Dedham, MA On-site $40/hour Primary Responsibilities

  • Process accounting and bookkeeping transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related transactions (bills, payments, vendor credits, invoicing, check deposits, etc.).
  • Conduct month-end close activities, including account reconciliation, review, and reporting.
  • Perform financial planning and analysis, including cash burn management, budget review, and forecasting.
  • Manage investor relations through reporting, documentation, and communication.
  • File finance-related documents.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll requirements.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll tasks, including managing hours, vacation, deductions, and employee reimbursement expenses.
  • Manage all company insurance matters, including renewals, audits, information requests, and compliance.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, including paperwork, insurance enrollment, and policy dissemination.
  • Administer employee benefits such as Gympass, health, dental, eye, and life insurances, and 401k plans.
  • Manage Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave.
  • Completion of other Accounting & HR related tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • Previous experience managing HR related tasks
  • Month-end close management expertise
  • Proficient in payroll and benefits management
  • Track record of independent and proactive work history
