Rockland Trust is seeking an experienced ABL Collateral Monitoring Manager to lead collateral oversight for a dynamic asset‑based lending portfolio while serving as a trusted risk partner to Credit, Relationship Management, and Operations. The ABL Collateral Monitoring Manager is responsible for overseeing collateral monitoring activities for asset‑based lending (ABL) relationships, ensuring collateral integrity, borrowing base compliance, and adherence to credit policy and regulatory standards.

This role leads a team of collateral analysts and partners closely with Relationship Managers, Credit, and Operations, and serves as a subject matter expert on collateral‑related risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collateral Oversight &

    Risk Management:

    • Manage ongoing collateral monitoring for ABL portfolios, including receivables, inventory, equipment, and other eligible assets.
    • Review and approve borrowing base certificates, collateral reports, and ineligibility calculations.
    • Identify collateral trends, risks, and exceptions; elevate issues and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with credit agreements, loan covenants, and internal policies.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, coach, and develop collateral analysts and senior analysts.
    • Assign workloads, review analyst work, and ensure timely and accurate monitoring deliverables.
    • Provide training on collateral analysis, borrowing base structures, and best practices.
  • Audit, Field Exams & Reporting:
    • Coordinate and review field exam results and third‑party collateral audits.
    • Track and resolve exam findings and follow‑up items.
    • Prepare portfolio‑level collateral reporting for senior management and credit committees.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    • Partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers to support new deal underwriting, renewals, and amendments.
    • Provide collateral expertise for complex transactions and stressed credits.
    • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders regarding collateral performance and concerns.
  • Process Improvement & Governance:
    • Enhance collateral monitoring processes, controls, and documentation standards.
    • Support regulatory exams, internal audits, and policy updates.
    • Ensure consistent application of eligibility standards and advance rates across the portfolio.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of experience in asset‑based lending, collateral monitoring, or commercial credit.
    • Prior management or senior‑level oversight experience preferred.
  • Technical & Professional

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of ABL structures, borrowing bases, and collateral eligibility.
    • Experience analyzing A/R agings, inventory reports, and field exam findings.
    • Familiarity with loan systems and collateral monitoring platforms.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to influence and collaborate across credit, relationship management, and operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing middle‑market or large corporate ABL relationships.
  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations for collateral monitoring.
  • CPA, CFA, or similar designation a plus.
Working Environment
  • Office or hybrid environment.
  • Periodic travel for field exams, training, or portfolio reviews.
