Role Description

Mass Mutual is seeking a full-time Tax Manager – Provisions to join its team at the Boston, MA office. The Tax Manager will oversee the preparation and review of income tax provisions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and financial reporting standards. Daily responsibilities include managing tax reporting processes, identifying tax risks and opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting audits and tax planning activities.

The role involves providing expertise on income tax accounting, implementing process improvements, and preparing detailed analyses and financial reports.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in income tax accounting and understanding of ASC 740, FIN 48, and FASB regulations
  • Strong skills in tax compliance, tax provisions, and managing corporate tax reporting
  • Experience with tax software and financial systems
  • Ability to analyze data, conduct research, and provide guidance on tax-related issues
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced tax qualification is a plus)
  • Previous experience in public accounting or a corporate tax role is highly desirable
