Fast growing Insurance company is Seeking a Manager of Investment Financial Reporting to join their Investment Accounting & Reporting team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing GAAP and Statutory investment accounting and reporting for a diversified investment portfolio. We are looking for a technically strong accounting professional with public accounting experience, deep asset knowledge, and demonstrated people leadership skills.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you will play a key role in financial reporting quality, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation, review, and delivery of investment-related GAAP financial statements and footnotes
  • Lead Statutory reporting, including review and approval of Blue Book and Green Book schedules
  • Own governance of management reporting for investments, including variance analysis, trend reporting, and executive commentary
  • Oversee impairment frameworks (CECL/OTTI), including monitoring triggers, documenting conclusions, and ensuring compliance
  • Maintain and enhance investment accounting policies, technical position papers, and control documentation
  • Partner closely with GAAP and Statutory reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely disclosures
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audit and regulatory inquiries
  • Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting automation
  • Review analytics and dashboards to highlight portfolio insights and emerging risks
  • Lead ad hoc projects related to new transactions, product launches, and accounting standard updates
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of investment accounting professionals
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Public accounting experience required
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP and Statutory reporting
  • Experience with diversified investment portfolios (fixed income, equities, alternatives, partnerships, derivatives, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CECL and OTTI impairment frameworks
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
