Senior Risk Analyst

Overview

Our client is seeking a Lead Risk Analyst to support risk oversight, valuation, and reporting for renewable energy trading and power portfolios. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial exposure analysis, supporting trading activities, and strengthening risk controls within a fast-paced energy environment. This is an onsite position based in Suffolk County, MA.

Starting at $100,000/year.

• Produce and maintain daily profit and loss reporting, position summaries, and exposure metrics across trading portfolios
• Track mark-to-market valuations and ensure compliance with established trading and risk limits
• Review and evaluate complex energy transactions to confirm accuracy and completeness
• Validate trade entry and lifecycle activity within the firm’s risk management systems
• Partner closely with trading, finance, and operations teams to explain risk drivers and portfolio performance
• Enhance reporting processes through automation, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

• 5 or more years of professional experience in risk analysis, financial analysis, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and modeling
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and VBA
• Proven ability to analyze large data sets and translate findings into clear insights
• Experience in energy or utility markets is a plus, but not required
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
