Role DescriptionAs an Associate or Senior Associate at HSG, you will serve as a key project contributor responsible for addressing client issues & goals, executing research plans, conducting in‑depth analyses, and contributing to the overall success and direction of a rapidly growing company. You will be exposed to a broad range of private equity and middle‑market clients across multiple industries.
Compensation consists of salary and substantive bonus program competitive with leading strategy consulting firms. Travel is minimal (less than 5%).
ResponsibilitiesAs an Associate or Senior Associate, you will serve as a key project contributor for addressing client issues & goals, executing research work streams, and conducting in depth analyses. Specifically, in this role you will:
- Lead project work streams and components within a project
- Understand client's goals, effectively work with teams, and "ask the right questions" to get at the heart of key project issues by drawing conclusions from our research
- Develop as a subject matter expert (SME) for client and internal team
- Execute research plans and conduct interviews with leading industry experts
- Write, design, and program quantitative online surveys
- Execute analyses with both quantitative and qualitative data in Excel
- Structure and develop well‑formatted quantitative and qualitative client deliverables in PPT
- Provide development opportunities, mentorship, and training to other junior team members
- Candidates must have 1‑3 years of directly relevant experience (i.e., strategy consulting firm, strategic planning / corporate strategy / corporate development, or private equity / venture capital / investment banking)
- Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic excellence
- Deep strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities
- Strong research (primary and secondary) skills
- Strong quantitative and analytic skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation development and writing skills in PowerPoint and Word
- Extremely organized and detail oriented
- Proactive self‑starter with an intellectual curiosity
- Ability to multitask and work in a time‑sensitive (short deadline) environment
- Contribute to the success and growth of a rapidly scaling company and make an immediate impact
- Take an active role in shaping firm culture and fostering a collaborative, collegial work environment
