The Panther Group is seeking a Senior Finance Administrator for a university in the Boston, MA area. This is a contract opportunity that is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office each week.
The Senior Finance Administrator oversees financial operations within a university department, managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and providing financial guidance to leadership. This role involves financial planning, process improvement, and collaboration with university finance teams.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:- Manage and oversee daily financial operations, including budgeting, and financial reporting. Assist Departments with financial oversight and reporting needs. Verify and process financial transactions for the Dean’s Office and as needed for the University.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance. Serve as primary reviewer and approver for contractual agreements within CAMD. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports for foreign activities and international engagement initiatives.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for departmental leadership. Analyze trends in budget, conduct data analysis and reporting related to CAMD Dean’s Office Budget. Work with Director of Administration and Finance to define departmental calendar, processes, and procedures. Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration assists with budget and salary projections.
- Monitor and reconcile budgets, ensuring proper allocation of funds and adherence to financial guidelines. Oversee inter-fund transfer processes across diverse funding streams. Perform overrun and audit assessments for CAMD funds to ensure budgets are not overspent and resolve any overdrafts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Skills required include financial, analytical, written and verbal communication, organizational, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and use sound judgment and discretion to make decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products as well as enterprise financial systems.
- Ability and willingness ability to learn computer systems and databases.
- Knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience working in higher education is a plus.
Pay is $25-32 per hour DOE
