Senior Accountant

Vaco by Highspring has partnered with a firm in Boston and they are looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their team.

• Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required disclosures.
• Draft and review financial statements, footnotes,, earnings releases, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate required disclosures.
• Research and document technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, inventory, stock-based compensation, and other retail-specific accounting areas.
• Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and SEC rule changes.
• Support external audit processes and manage deliverables for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance).
• Participate in special projects, including system implementations, M&A integrations, and process improvements.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the reporting function.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
• 4-7+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or public company SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Experience with financial reporting tools
• Retail, consumer products, or multi-location business experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
