Job Overview – Director of Accounting and Fund Operations (Hybrid)
Compensation: $160,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Director of Accounting and Fund Operations (Hybrid) in Boston, MA for our client, overseeing fund accounting, trust accounting, and operational functions across alternative investments and client portfolios. In this hybrid leadership role, you will manage accounting operations, partner with investment, tax, and compliance teams, and drive process improvements while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.
Responsibilities- Accounting & Operational Leadership: Oversee fund and trust accounting along with day-to-day investment operations to ensure accurate reporting and execution.
- Investment & Trust Accounting: Manage accounting for alternative investments and coordinate trust transactions with internal and client teams.
- Reconciliations & Controls: Review reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong controls across cash and partnership accounts.
- Audit & Tax Coordination: Partner with auditors, tax teams, and compliance to support financial statements and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead accounting staff and collaborate with custodians, administrators, and internal stakeholders to drive efficient operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years of accounting, fund operations, or wealth management experience, including leadership responsibilities and exposure to alternative investments.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of partnership accounting, trusts, estates, tax reporting, and investment operations within a financial services environment.
- Technical
Skills:
Experience with Quick Books, trust accounting platforms, Addepar, and advanced Excel proficiency required. - Skills & Attributes: Strategic and detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative approach to driving operational excellence.
