Position: Big Night Entertainment Group - Payroll Specialist

Overview

As a Payroll Specialist, a typical day might include the following:

  • Administering and supporting end-to-end payroll processing for Big Night Entertainment Group and partner company Card Vault by Tom Brady, including multi-state payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Managing pre-payroll audits by reviewing timecards, pay rates, tips, and hours worked to ensure employees are compensated accurately for time worked
  • Maintaining Big Night Entertainment Group private events dining tip sheets and auditing for accuracy
  • Working directly with venue operations and store management teams to monitor, submit, approve and adjust employee timecards
  • Ensuring accurate payroll tax withholding, reporting, and compliance across multiple states, including adherence to state-specific wage and hour laws
  • Administering wage garnishments, including setup, calculations, ongoing deductions, and timely remittance in accordance with court orders and state regulations
  • Researching, resolving, and responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees, including pay discrepancies, deductions, and timekeeping issues
  • Supporting end-of-year payroll processing, including reconciliation of wages and taxes, coordination of year-end filings, and preparation and distribution of W-2 forms
  • Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and data integrity when handling sensitive employee and company payroll information
  • Supporting additional payroll and administrative functions as assigned
Requirements
  • At least one-year previous direct payroll processing experience required
  • Previous payroll or administrative experience supporting retail and/or hospitality operations strongly preferred
  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly required
  • Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees
  • Organization and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks
  • Flexibility to help adjust to new tasks should company needs change

  • This role is a remote opportunity, although some flexibility for occasional travel to the Boston corporate office and/or locations around the New England area would be preferred. Primarily seeking candidates who reside on a full-time basis in Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island
  • Hours are somewhat flexible, however Tuesday and Wednesday availability is a must. This role is anticipated to work Monday through Friday otherwise
  • May be required to work outside of traditional office hours surrounding holiday payroll submissions when requested
  • Job functions require hours of sitting, typing, and use of a computer
