We are looking for a Jr. Fund Accountant to join our team in Boston, MA. In this long-term contract role (potential contract to hire), you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy of financial operations and compliance within the organization. This position offers an opportunity to work on-site five days a week and contribute to critical accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor funds to ensure compliance with investment restrictions and regulatory requirements.
- Calculate and process distributions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare projections and billing statements to support financial planning and operations.
- Generate detailed monthly financial statements and related reports.
- Perform valuations and reconcile derivatives to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in calculating Net Asset Value (NAV) for funds and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address accounting discrepancies and improve workflows.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Support audits by preparing and organizing required documentation.
Requirements - Proven experience in fund accounting or a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of compliance practices and investment restrictions.
- Proficiency in preparing billing statements and financial projections.
- Ability to calculate and reconcile derivatives accurately.
- Familiarity with Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and related processes.
- Advanced skills in financial reporting and monthly statement preparation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
