Location: Shrewsbury, MA

About Us: Hebert Foods Inc. (HFI) is a New England chocolate manufacturer with over 100 years of tradition and craftsmanship. We produce premium confections and are looking for a skilled Controller to help guide our financial strategy and support our continued growth.

Position Summary: The Controller oversees all accounting and finance functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role manages budgets, cash flow, and internal controls, and assists with HR functions such as payroll and benefits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated to improve efficiency and profitability.

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial goals
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and receivable
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure tax compliance
• Analyze financial data to support decision‑making and strategy
• Coordinate audits and support process improvements
• Provide direction on Costing and Pricing Strategies to ensure profitability
• Partner with leadership on HR duties, including payroll and benefits

• Proven experience in accounting or financial management
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (food preferred but not required)
• Experience with payroll and HR administration
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Location: On-site (Shrewsbury, MA)
