Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Family Office

A privately held real estate investment and operating group is building out its family office and seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial infrastructure. This executive will oversee all financial strategy, reporting, tax planning, entity structuring, and investment oversight for the family’s operating businesses and long-term wealth.

Responsibilities
  • Build and lead the financial operations, reporting, and controls for the family office and related entities.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, capital allocation, and financial performance management.
  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting across real estate assets, operating companies, and investment holdings.
  • Manage tax strategy, trust/estate planning, and entity structuring in coordination with external advisors.
  • Direct treasury, banking, and financing activities, including debt, cash management, and lender relations.
  • Support investment decision-making, performance tracking, and risk management across the portfolio.
  • Develop scalable financial systems, governance, and family office best practices.
  • Build and manage a small in-house team or oversee outsourced finance/accounting providers.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within a family office.
  • CPA preferred; MBA or advanced finance degree a plus.
  • Deep expertise in multi-entity accounting, financial reporting; real estate finance preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tax, trust/estate planning, and family office governance.
  • Proven ability to build financial infrastructure, implement controls, and partner with ownership.
  • High integrity, discretion, with the ability to communicate with principals and non-financial stakeholders.
