We are partnered with a global, publicly listed professional services firm that is continuing to scale its U.S. fund services platform. Due to sustained growth, the firm is adding an Associate Director, Fund Services to its Boston-based alternative investments team.
This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role supporting private equity and real asset funds within a stable, well‑tenured group known for reasonable hours, strong internal promotion, and a collaborative culture.
The RoleThe Associate Director will oversee a portfolio of private equity and real estate funds, acting as a senior reviewer, client‑facing lead, and people manager. The role blends technical depth with team leadership and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day fund accounting, investor servicing, and reporting for private equity and real asset funds
- Review and approve fund‑level, investor‑level, and investment‑level accounting activity
- Oversee capital calls, distributions, partner allocations, waterfalls, and management fee calculations
- Review and approve U.S. GAAP financial statements and partner capital statements
- Serve as a technical resource on U.S. GAAP and evolving accounting guidance
- Manage audit relationships and year‑end audit processes
- Supervise, mentor, and develop managers and senior‑level team members
- Partner with internal stakeholders on process improvements, technology initiatives, and controls
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted point of escalation
- 8+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting or fund administration
- Experience with in a fund administrator, alternative investment platform, or institutional services environment
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP as applied to private equity and real estate funds
- Proven experience reviewing complex waterfalls, allocations, and fund structures
- Prior people management or senior review responsibility
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working across multiple systems and workflows
Candidates with primarily mutual fund or traditional registered investment company experience will not be a fit for this role.
Compensation & Benefits (Summary)- Base salary: approximately $145,000 – $165,000
- Annual bonus: discretionary, typically 5–10%
