Private Equity Associate

A leading middle‑market private equity firm based in New York is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) investment team. The firm has a strong track record of partnering with management teams to build market‑leading businesses across financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation analysis

• Conduct deep industry and company research across key verticals within financial services

• Assist in structuring and executing transactions, from initial evaluation through post‑close portfolio management

• Work closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company leadership on strategic initiatives and value creation efforts

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, ideally within a FIG coverage group (banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, or specialty finance)

• Strong analytical and modeling skills, with a solid grasp of capital structure and valuation methodologies

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with comfort interfacing with senior professionals and management teams

• Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
