You’ll Do
As a Tax Senior Manager at BCG, you will be primarily responsible for U.S. income tax accounting (ASC 740), tax return compliance, and various internal reporting initiatives. This role combines operational responsibilities with project‑based work across domestic and international tax areas. As a key member of the global tax reporting and analysis team, you will collaborate closely with global tax colleagues, global accounting and control colleagues, and external advisors, contributing to our dynamic and flexible organizational structure.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the preparation of earnings and profits (E&P) calculations for all subsidiaries, ensuring accurate international inclusions.
- Coordinate the preparation of U.S. consolidated 1120 and various federal forms (8858, 8865, 5471, 1118).
- Manage the preparation and review of consolidated, unitary, and standalone state income tax returns, along with year‑end income tax provisions for U.S. reporting entities.
- Oversee the preparation of the consolidated year‑end income tax provision work papers, including the financial statement footnotes.
- Contribute to domestic and international tax projects, which may include:
- Enhancing tax dashboards, models, and database management
- Preparing analyses of intercompany transactions and supporting tax audits.
- Leading initiatives to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
- Thriving in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment, ideally within a global accounting or professional services organization.
- Managing multiple work streams with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
- Working both independently and collaboratively, adapting to evolving team and project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 7‑10 years of experience in tax accounting or tax compliance, showcasing a progression of responsibility.
- CPA and/or MST preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Automate, Tableau Prep Builder and Tableau highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Corp Tax is required; experience with tax research software (e.g., BNA), and SAP is a plus.
As a Tax Senior Manager, you will join a specialized seven‑member team dedicated to tax reporting and analysis, within a larger tax department of over thirty professionals. You will also collaborate closely with the wider finance organization that shares aligned objectives and responsibilities. Your work will span daily operational tasks as well as strategic, project‑based initiatives, providing exposure across the full spectrum of tax accounting and compliance.

In the US, we have a compensation transparency approach. Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market‑leading benefits package described below.
- Base salary range for this role in Boston is $142,000–$173,300.
