A Regional Legal Office is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. This is a newly created position due to the firm's growth, aimed at ensuring the efficient management of our accounts receivable.
Qualifications
- 2–4years of experience in collections, billing, accounts receivable, or finance
- 2+ years Legal or Insurance industry experience required
- Hands on invoice reconciliation and payment processing required
- Expert level experience communicating directly with claim reps, adjusters, attorneys, or clients regarding overdue invoices and appeals.
- Hands on management of high volume of emails, follow‑ups, and payment discrepancies.
- Previous industry experience in legal billing, insurance billing, or claims processing is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and related AR/billing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to resolve issues professionally.
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with strong organization and prioritization abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and post daily payments for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of missing payments, write‑offs, and appeals.
- Follow up on overdue invoices by communicating with claim reps, adjusters, and insureds via phone, email, and formal notices.
- Collaborate with attorneys and the billing team to manage appeal submissions, deductions, invoice corrections, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date AR records in ARCS, including tracking flagged emails and issuing follow‑up reminders.
- Provide high‑quality customer service by preparing reports, researching inquiries, and resolving payment‑related issues.
- Update and create internal procedures to streamline workflows and ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Support overall financial accuracy and contribute to improved collection performance.
