Overview

Senior Fund Accountant or Fund Accounting Manager – Boston (Hybrid). Compensation: $110-135K + Bonus (depending on title and experience).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare quarterly and annual fund-level financial statements, supporting schedules, and work papers.
  • Ensure timely preparation of GAAP-compliant financial reports, including consolidation entries, eliminations, and footnotes.
  • Review property-level financial statements and ensure accuracy in consolidation.
  • Prepare or review quarterly cash flow statements and performance metrics.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Capital Activity & Investor Reporting
  • Prepare capital calls, distributions, and partner allocations.
  • Prepare investor reporting deliverables: quarterly reports, capital account statements, and fee calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, waterfalls, and investor requirements.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
  • Serve as a contact for interim and year-end audits.
  • Prepare audit support and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Prepare year-end property and fund level tax packages.
  • Maintain internal controls and adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Operational Oversight & Process Improvement
  • Supervise and mentor fund accounting staff.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on cash management and funding.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements.
Technical & Strategic Support
  • Interpret partnership agreements, loan documents, and transaction files.
  • Support acquisition, disposition, financing, and restructuring activities.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in real estate fund accounting, private equity, or public accounting.
