Position: Global Fund Tax Manager (Asset Manager / Tax Advisory Focus)

Global Fund Tax Manager (Asset Manager / Tax Advisory Focus)

Our team is working with a global asset manager looking to hire a Global Fund Tax Manager to support complex North American operational fund tax matters, focusing on private funds, alternative investments, digital assets, and non-traditional product structures.

Compensation: Full-time hybrid, 3 days in office/2 at home, base 140-160K plus bonus and strong benefits.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Serve as senior tax subject-matter expert advising on complex North American operational fund tax issues, focusing on private funds, alternative investments (i.e., digital assets), and non-traditional product structures.
  • Support North American operational tax compliance processes and governance frameworks.
  • Identify operational tax issues impacting complex fund structures and collaborate with internal and external tax advisors to support product objectives.
  • Provide periodic and ad-hoc tax planning for portfolio managers.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Advise on operational and strategic tax matters and internal process development.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate tax-related risks.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers.
  • Lead change initiatives and educate teams on tax best practices.
Experience, Education &

Certifications:
  • 7+ years in tax, preferably focused on investment funds.
  • Master’s degree in Tax, Law, Accounting, or Finance.
  • CPA, CA, or ACCA certification preferred.
  • Expertise in complex retail and private investment structures.
  • Knowledge of complex securities and alternative investments.
  • Strong operational efficiency skills. Accredited in Lean Six Sigma, CPOE, CEE, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with project management and automation tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Soft skills:

    Ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly.
