Job Overview – Director of Financial Reporting (Corporate Accounting):
Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Director of Financial Reporting (Corporate Accounting) in Boston, MA (Hybrid) with our client. You will oversee GAAP, STAT, and management reporting for multiple insurance entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role is ideal for a senior accounting professional with insurance industry experience, deep GAAP/STAT expertise, and strong leadership in financial reporting and governance.
Responsibilities- Financial Reporting Oversight: Lead the preparation and review of GAAP, STAT, and management financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Regulatory Reporting: Oversee NAIC schedules and statutory filings, maintaining adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and guide the reporting team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Process & Controls: Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes with strong internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Controllers, and FP&A to deliver cohesive, data-driven reporting and analysis.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to optimize reporting systems, streamline consolidation, and enhance automation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years in financial reporting, consolidation, and statutory reporting within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Technical
Skills:
Advanced Excel, SAP, and data visualization (Micro Strategy or similar) proficiency, with experience in large-scale consolidation and reporting systems. - Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, STAT, NAIC, and management reporting standards, with familiarity in tax and regulatory frameworks preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strategic, detail-oriented leader with strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
