Summary: We are seeking a motivated and talented technician to join our dynamic robotics team. This role involves developing software for cutting‑edge robotics applications and sensor networks.
Engineering TechnicianLocation: Lexington, MA (onsite)
Position OverviewThe Engineering Technician will assist engineers in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electromechanical systems. This role requires strong hands‑on skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision electronic components and prototypes.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble, wire, and test electrical and electromechanical systems and prototypes
- Perform soldering and rework on electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001)
- Build and modify wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and circuit boards
- Support troubleshooting and debugging of electrical systems and hardware
- Operate common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Assist engineers with prototype fabrication, system integration, and testing
- Document build procedures, test results, and engineering changes
- Maintain organized lab and workshop environments
- Associate’s degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong practical skills in electrical assembly and troubleshooting
- Ability to solder electronic components to IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, or equivalent workmanship standards)
- Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Proficiency with standard electronics lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supplies)
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Experience working in robotics, automation, or prototype development environments
- Familiarity with PCB assembly and rework
- Experience with wiring harness fabrication and connector termination
- IPC certification (preferred but not required)
